About Color Blindness

  • What is color blindness ?
  • Color-blindness is the inability to distinguish the differences between certain colors. This condition results from an absence of color-sensitive pigment in the cone cells of the retina, the nerve layer at the back of the eye. Most forms of color blindness are inherited at birth. The most common form of color blindness is red-green color blindness. People with this condition have a hard time distinguishing between different shades of reds and greens.

  • Is there any solution for color blindness ?
  • Curing color blindness is currently impossible. But people with certain forms of red-green color blindness may be able to use a special set of glasses (or contact lenses) to help them perceive colors more accurately under certain lighting conditions.

  • How can I take driving license then ?
  • People with normal color blindness can ask doctor for recommendation letter where the doctor take the responsibility of the patients and include those letter photo copy with the forms to be submitted.
